Abstract
Phase change material (PCM) refers to a type of material that has a large latent heat storage capacity during the phase transition process. PCMs such as paraffin, polyethlene glycol (PEG) is a new type of energy-saving and environmentally friendly material, which is currently used in the fields of building insulation, thermal management, and energy storage, etc. However, PCMs suffer from the poor shape stability during their solid-liquid phase change. Bacterial cellulose hydrogel is a green and high mechanical strength 3D porous materials. In this work, a high-performance bacterial cellulose/polyethylene glycol composite phase change gel is prepared through a novel solvent exchange method in which BC hydrogel used as the supporting matrix of PEG PCMs. The results show that this material has good flexibility, high heat storage density and good shape stability, which has broad application prospects in the fields of thermal energy management and skin wound protection.
